Project Scope:
The construction of a fourth bioreactor and clarifier is an integral component of the overall Hamilton WWTP Upgrade project, as an additional bioreactor and clarifier will increase the plant capacity, improve the quality of wastewater processing, and will help ensure compliance with resource consent conditions.

Major works involved in the construction contract included:

• Bulk excavation and to form the construction platforms together with associated drainge works for the two large tanks
• 60m x 20.6m x 5.6m high reinforced concrete Bioreactor tank including under ground tank drainage, mud valves, penstocks, walkways and handrails.
• 42m diameter x 5.17m high pre-stressed, post tensioned clarifier tank set in 3m below ground level. The tank includes a 48 pre-stressed curved panels and 4 pre-stressed pilaster panels used for post tensioning the tank, pre-cast launder trough, central clarifier foundation block, 825mm diameter inlet pipe, 375mm diameter RAS line, secondary effluent, secondary scum and tank drain lines,
• Supply and installation of a clarifier mechanism.
• Hydro static testing to the bioreactor and clarifier tanks and their associated process lines
• Testing and commissioning of clarifier mechanism
• Siteworks and Roading to complete the project
