Overview: Due to the ongoing growth in the Taupo area and increasing volumes of septage for disposal a new septage reception and management facility was required for the town. The main features of the purpose built facility included a fibreglass underground storage tank with the capacity to store 50m3 of septage and automatically pump this into the local sewage network, together with fully automated unloading and screening of septage to remove gross solids and grit.

The contract works included all civils, mechanical and electrical works to complete the construction of this facility on a greenfields site. Specific works included, installation of the underground storage tank, drainage, siteworks, roading and landscaping, construction of a new MCC building, reinforced concrete works, septage screen installation, pump installation and all associated mechanical and electrical works.
