Mamaku Water Treatment Plant Upgrade
Rotorua Lakes Council
CLIENT:
2018
YEAR:
This project was for the complete upgrade to the existing Mamaku Water Treatment Plant. The existing supply consisted of two bores, two reservoirs, chlorination and a pump station.
The upgrade was carried out with minimal disruption to the town supply. This required a temporary pumping system to be installed to bypass the existing plant which allowed the removal of the existing equipment, rearranging the pipework and installation of the new equipment.
The works included:
Replacing the existing bore pumps.
Replacing the existing distribution pumps.
Installing new particle filters.
Installing new UV filters.
Replace existing PLC and VSD’s.
Replacing the standby generator with a larger unit.
Repairs to the plant room floor.
This was all completed with two short water shutdowns to allow the connection and disconnection of the temporary bypass pumping system.
This project was completed in December 2018.
