Te Tahi Water Treatment Plant UV and Chlorine Free Backwash Water Upgrade

Upgrade to existing water treatment, including building consents, supply & installation of pumps, pipework and UV treatment system with building, as well as associated electrical and control work.
This project involved the construction of a new Ultraviolet Treatment System and chlorine-free Backwash System at the existing Te Tahi Water Treatment Plant.
UV Treatment System works included:
New Building and building consents.
Supply and installation of a PE and Stainless-Steel pipework, valves and associated instrumentation.
Installation of principal supplied UV units.
Installation of Electrical and Control system.
Supply and installation of backwash pumps, pipework, valves and associated instrumentation.
Installation of Electrical and Control system.
Innovation:
To reduce construction time and ensure concrete quality, the precast building design was modified to reduce insitu wall construction, resulting in a cost neutral change with programme benefits.
