The project consisted of upgrading an existing pumpstation which catered for a large proportion of Te Awamutu’s wastewater flows, the project included:

  • Construction of a new emergency storage tank approx 15m x 30m x 3m deep.

  • Diversion of the gravity sewer into the new storage tank.

  • Installation and commissioning of a bypass pumping system to divert the flows with associated temporary connections to the existing rising main.

  • Installation of a new 315mm rising main with associated live connections, valves and reinstatement.

  • Demolition of two existing concrete floors within the existing pumpstation and removal of all existing infrastructure.

  • Installation and commissioning of new pumps and valves.

  • Full electrical and scada upgrade including new transformer, PLC, VSDs, instruments and control.
