The project consisted of upgrading an existing pumpstation which catered for a large proportion of Te Awamutu’s wastewater flows, the project included:
Construction of a new emergency storage tank approx 15m x 30m x 3m deep.
Diversion of the gravity sewer into the new storage tank.
Installation and commissioning of a bypass pumping system to divert the flows with associated temporary connections to the existing rising main.
Installation of a new 315mm rising main with associated live connections, valves and reinstatement.
Demolition of two existing concrete floors within the existing pumpstation and removal of all existing infrastructure.
Installation and commissioning of new pumps and valves.
Full electrical and scada upgrade including new transformer, PLC, VSDs, instruments and control.
