KCE Waiere Power Station

The civil scope of the works for this project included:

• Removal of two existing obsolete turbines and associated draft turbines etc

• Building strengthening including pile installation of new turbine reinforced concrete foundation works

• Turbine foundation work . This work requires sequencing to ensure equipment installation occurs in the right order.

• Placement of draft tube a12030, turbine a11088, MIV (main inlet valve) a12008 and generator 1-3206-531.

• Lowering of the tailrace by 0.5m, demolition, excavation and construction of new reinforced concret tailrace

• New penstock foundation block and plinths; and installation of the new penstock

• Installation of bored reinforced concrete piles
